POBNEWS24, Dhaka Jul 6, 2026 : Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Dhaka Dr. Abdullah Jafar H. bin Abiyyah paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has agreed to visit the country at the invitation of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. At the same time, he invited the Saudi Crown Prince to visit Bangladesh.

Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir shared this information with reporters at an emergency briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday morning.

He added that the Saudi Crown Prince has also expressed interest in visiting Bangladesh.

However, Humayun Kabir mentioned that the schedule of the Prime Minister’s visit has not been fixed. It will be determined through mutual discussions between the governments of the two countries.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Dhaka Dr. Abdullah Jafar H. bin Abiyyah paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The meeting was held at 9:40 am at the Cabinet Division of the Bangladesh Secretariat.
At this time, the Saudi Ambassador handed over a letter from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud to the Prime Minister. In the letter, the Crown Prince said that he had accepted the invitation sent by the Prime Minister to visit Bangladesh. He also mentioned that the Prime Minister’s brotherly attitude towards Saudi Arabia indicates the depth of the relations between the two countries. He expressed his determination to work together to advance the relations between the two countries in various fields.

The Prime Minister requested the Saudi Ambassador to convey his thanks to the Crown Prince for accepting the invitation.

The Saudi Ambassador also said that Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has also expressed his interest in visiting Bangladesh soon.

During the discussion, the Ambassador extended an invitation to the Bangladesh Prime Minister on behalf of his government to visit Saudi Arabia at a convenient time. The Prime Minister welcomed the invitation and accepted it.

During the meeting, the Ambassador informed the Prime Minister about the interest of Saudi Arabian companies to invest in Bangladesh. The Prime Minister welcomed the meeting and highlighted various initiatives taken by the current government to ensure an investment-friendly environment. At the same time, she expressed hope that Saudi companies’ investments in Bangladesh will increase gradually.

In addition, issues related to the interests of the two countries were discussed in the meeting.

Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir and Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Ambassador to Dhaka Ibrahim Abdullah were present.
