POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Dec 8, 2021: (UNI) Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan made a courtesy call on visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla at the Westin Dhaka on Wednesday night.
Shringla is on an official visit to Bangladesh from December 7 to 8 to discuss bilateral issues, including the preparation of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind’s participation in the 50th Victory Day celebrations to be held in Dhaka.
During the meeting, Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and Harsh Vardhan Shringla exchanged pleasantries and discussed issues relating to promotion of trades and economic ties.
The Indian Foreign Secretary lauded Bashundhara Group for making outstanding contributions to the trade, commerce and socio economic development of Bangladesh.
Both sides expected that the bilateral relations and business ties between the two next-door neighbours will continue to grow in the days to come for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
Earlier, the Bashundhara Group Chairman presented the Indian Foreign Secretary with a bouquet.
Shringla arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday morning for a two-day official visit to Bangladesh to hold meetings with Bangladesh leadership to further strengthen and consolidate the existing excellent bilateral relations in addition to preparing the State Visit of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind to Bangladesh on December 15-17.
Bangladesh and India are committed to further strengthen and consolidate the existing excellent relations that are founded on common values, culture and legacies based on mutual trust, respect and understanding.
The existing relation is the reflection of the will of the people and the leaderships of both countries are set to work together for the next fifty years and beyond towards attaining a vision of shared prosperity and development.
It is to be noted that Bashundhara Group is one of the largest corporate houses in Bangladesh.
