POBNEWS24, Desk report Aug 29, 2025 : BJP workers and supporters have been accused of attacking and vandalizing Congress offices in Dhundhuma, West Bengal and Bihar, India. The incident is said to have started due to indecent comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother.

The video that has already reached the media shows workers of the two parties hitting each other with party flag poles. Several leaders and workers of both parties were injured in the clashes in both states. However, no one has been arrested so far. The Congress has strongly condemned the entire incident.
The incident took place due to indecent comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. It has been alleged that during the ‘Voter Rights March’ in Darbhanga, a person wearing a Congress flag made obscene comments towards the Prime Minister. The video went viral. After that, the BJP filed an FIR at the police station and demanded an apology from the Congress.

Darbhanga police said that the accused has been arrested in the incident. X-A Darbhanga police wrote, ‘A case has been registered at Simri police station. One accused is being arrested and produced in court.’

Today, Friday, the BJP joined the protest by taking to the streets in Patna, Bihar. When Congress workers also took to the field, a fight broke out between the two camps. A large police force was deployed to control the situation. Although the situation was brought under control, the situation in Patna is tense.
Meanwhile, the heat of Bihar has also reached Kolkata. The BJP organized a protest rally in front of the state headquarters of the National Congress, Bidhan Bhavan, in Kolkata on Friday. During the protest rally, a group of BJP supporters entered the Congress office and vandalized and rioted. It is also alleged that BJP leader Rakesh Singh led the vandalism and arson outside the building.

There have been allegations that several banners and posters, including the picture of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, were also torn down. The Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the incident. A complaint has been filed with the Entali police station in the wake of the incident.

Condemning the entire incident, West Bengal State Pradesh Congress spokesperson Soumya Aich Roy said, “No one does this unless they are bankrupt in politics. Since the Congress is catching the BJP stealing from the entire country, they are angry with our party. They have chosen a time to do this when the office was vacant. We are demanding that the state administration take action against the culprits.”
Bihar Congress leader Ashutosh alleged that the government was behind the incident. Nitish Kumar is making a mistake. We will also respond.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Nitin Naveen warned that every son of Bengal will avenge the insult of his mother to the Congress. We will definitely respond to this.

Home Minister Amit Shah strongly condemned the incident on social media and wrote that Congress politics has sunk to the lowest level under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. They cannot accept that the son of a poor mother is taking the country forward by sitting as the Prime Minister for 11 years. Such language about the Prime Minister and his late mother is not only shameful but also a disgrace to democracy.’

BJP President JP Nadda wrote that such indecent attacks have crossed all limits. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav should apologise.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also strongly criticised the incident. He said, ‘It is inappropriate to make obscene comments about the Prime Minister and his late mother. I strongly condemn it.’
