POBNEWS24,Dhaka July 20, 2022 :: China is building a few villages near Doklam in Bhutan on the Sino-Indian border. A complete village can be seen in satellite images.
Besides, the work of building another village is nearing completion. Some sources also mentioned that China has built a total of four villages near Doklam adjacent to Bhutan.
China can get various benefits from these structures built for military purposes.
India is worried about these increasing activities of China on the border.
Some new satellite images have come into the hands of the Indian media. It is seen there, China has built an entire village near Bhutan’s Doklam pass on the India-China border. They are also building a bypass road along it.
By that road one can reach a hilltop in China along the Amo Chu River. From where China can keep an eye on India’s Siliguri Corridor.
In 2017, there was a long standoff between the Chinese and Indian armies at Doklam. Clashes also took place between the two sides. The issue was resolved after long talks between the two countries.
New satellite images show that China has built an entire village called Pangda, nine kilometers away from Doklam. The satellite images show not only village houses but also cars parked in the parking lot. That is, people have started living in that village. India claims that around 10 km of the village where the village is built is Bhutanese territory. In other words, China entered Bhutan and built that village.
It does not end here, China has built a road along the Amo Chu River next to that village. The road can be used throughout the year. India claims that a part of that road is also the territory of Bhutan. China can reach the strategic area of Doklam Plateau through that road.
If the road bypasses Indian military structures and reaches the strategic point of Doklam, China will be able to monitor the important Siliguri corridor in North Bengal from there.
Siliguri Corridor is an important military area of India. The 22 km long corridor is the only road connecting mainland India with the entire northeast India. As a result, if China monitors the road, India’s military strategy may be hampered.
Retired Indian Lt. Gen. Praveen Bakshi was once the commander of the eastern border. He played an important role during the Doklam crisis. He told the press, “China’s construction of Pangda village and construction of structures to its north and south shows how they want to establish their hegemony in Jhamperi Ridge and Doklam.”
This former army officer clearly stated that China is maintaining its aggression in that region.
An Indian Army source told NDTV, “India is keeping an eye on all the activities of China.” Indian forces are taking appropriate steps to maintain the sovereignty of the country. However, he did not clarify what kind of measures India is taking in that region.
New satellite images show that China has almost finished building another village along the Amo Chu River. A new village has begun to be built further south. They have also built a bridge over the Amo Chu river.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs was contacted in this regard, but they did not want to say anything. However, an official of the ministry confirmed that India is looking at the matter seriously.
