POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Dec 6, 2021 : Cyclone Javad is approaching the coast of southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh in India. The cyclone could hit early Saturday morning. This may result in light to heavy rainfall in Kolkata and some adjoining districts in West Bengal. The wind can blow.
The Alipore Meteorological Department in Kolkata, West Bengal, said on Thursday that the cyclone could cause strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph over West Bengal. The rain may continue for a few days. The depression in the Andaman Sea and adjoining areas is likely to turn into a deep cyclone on Thursday night. As a result, the cyclone could hit the coasts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh on Saturday morning.
The state government has taken adequate measures to deal with the cyclone. Fishing at sea has been banned since Friday. Fishermen who have already gone to sea for fishing have been instructed to return immediately. Alerts have been issued in Digha, Mandarmani, Tajpur and Sundarbans areas.
Meanwhile, Indian Railways has already canceled 53 long-distance trains.
