POBNEWS24, Dhaka Apr 16, 2025: After a long decade and a half, a meeting at the level of foreign secretaries of Bangladesh and Pakistan is going to be held in Dhaka. Pakistani Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch is coming to Dhaka today to participate in this meeting.
The meeting will be held at the level of foreign secretaries of the two countries at the State Guest House Padma on Thursday (April 17). The meeting will be led by Foreign Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin of Bangladesh and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch of Pakistan.
A senior official at the Foreign Ministry said that Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch is arriving in Dhaka on Wednesday (April 16) afternoon to lead her country’s delegation.
According to the schedule, the meeting will be held on Thursday morning. After lunch, Amna Baloch will pay a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain and then on Principal Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus. In the evening, a special dinner will be held in her honor at Baridhara in the capital. Representatives of civil society will attend it.
It is learned that the foreign secretaries of Bangladesh and Pakistan will discuss various issues including trade, investment, defense, agriculture, information and communication technology, and connectivity.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will visit Dhaka later this month. This will be the first visit by a Pakistani foreign minister to Bangladesh since 2012.
