POBNEWS24,Dhaka, Jun 26, 2021: In Dhaka 61 and in Chittagong 55 percent of the people have corona antibodies. These figures are based on data released by the ICDDRB on 22 June 2021. These results were obtained by conducting surveys in a few selected slums and adjoining areas of Dhaka and Chittagong.
We can assume that more than half of the people in Dhaka and Chittagong, two-thirds in Dhaka are already affected by corona. What is the real significance of this? Health experts think that this means that as many people have been infected, many more people may already be infected, are and will be infected. This is the aspect of fear.
Many may say that when antibodies are present, it means that a large number of people have become corona once. Maybe the symptoms weren’t so obvious or were mild. Maybe many have gone about their daily business ignoring colds, coughs and mild fevers. He did not go to the hospital as the infection was not severe. He did not understand the corona he was attacked. It’s better than evil!
If this is true then one can think again, then it can be assumed that there is going to be at least ‘hard immunity’ in Dhaka? Experts say no, if 60-70 percent of people are not vaccinated, there will be no ‘hard immunity’. This is because, even if a corona has been infected, it is not possible to be sure how much protection the resulting antibody will provide against newer variants or variants of the corona. Or the depth of antibody resistance is lower because the coronary infection may not have been severe. For all these reasons, the same person may have more than one corona, we have that example in front of us. As a result, everyone should be vaccinated quickly and wear a mask outside the house, wash their hands repeatedly with soap, avoid public gatherings and follow other hygiene rules.
There is a shortage of vaccines in our country. Maybe it will take a long time to vaccinate everyone. Wearing a mask is most important at this time. At the same time, health and virus experts believe that the risk of corona infection can be reduced by 80-90 percent if other health rules are followed.
Corona and other infections of the covid type
It is true that acute corona infections are generally less common in slum dwellers, low- and middle-income people. One of the reasons for this may be that the symptoms are almost non-existent or mild. With a slight cold, they bought conventional antibiotics and tablets from a local drug store and continued their work. Otherwise the income may stop. A study by the ICDDRB found that people with the BCG vaccine and those with moderate physical activity had lower rates of infection. Exercising reduces the risk of infection in their corona.
Another issue can also be considered. Recently published in the online edition of Medical News Today magazine, ‘Could Interact with Other Viruses Stop SARS-Cove-to Replication?’ The article cites data from various studies showing that covid infections are affected if a respiratory virus infection has occurred before. A few months ago, the renowned virologist and former vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib University. Nazrul said. He said that ordinary people who ate hard often got colds, coughs, fevers and respiratory diseases and recovered by taking some antibiotics on the advice of the compounder of the drug store. Later, the risk of many of them is reduced. He said that after being infected with the same type of virus, the risk of getting coronavirus again is usually reduced.
Strict lockdown
From July 1, 2021, there will be another 7-day lockdown in the country. This step has been taken as the infection continues to increase. Recent experience has shown that infections can be controlled with lockdown. But everyone has to comply with this lockdown. It is in everyone’s interest. But you also have to make sure that no one has to eat during the lockdown. Local government can play an active role in this regard at the ward, upazila and union levels of city corporations.
