POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 17, 2023 : Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at several places as some parts of the country can experience moderately heavy falls, said a met forecast valid for next 24 hours from 9am today.
“Light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Dhaka divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions”, the met office said.
It also said moderately heavy falls is likely to occur at some places over the country.
Country’s maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 34.5 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur while minimum temperature today was 24.3 degrees Celsius at Bandarban.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 36 millimeters at Bandarban.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
The sun sets at 6:48 PM today and rises at 5:21 AM tomorrow in the capital.
