POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 8, 2022 : In a message on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated all the women of the world and said that women have ensured equal participation in all the progress and development of civilization through their talents and labor. That is why the attitude towards women has changed all over the world today. Now women’s work is being evaluated, recognition is increasing.
The Prime Minister said this in a message given on the occasion of ‘International Women’s Day’ today (March 8).
This time the theme is ‘Gender equality is paramount today for a sustainable future’. In the message, she said, just as we have achieved independence through the joint efforts of men and women of this country, it will also be possible to build a hunger-poverty-free and developed-prosperous golden Bangladesh of the dream of the father of the nation by 2041.
Sheikh Hasina said various projects and programs including VGD program, maternity allowance program for poor mothers, working lactating mother assistance program, vocational training for women self-employment and micro-credit are being implemented under social security zone to alleviate women’s poverty.
The Prime Minister said strict laws and policies have been enacted against any kind of violence and torture against women including trafficking of women and prevention of child marriage. In addition, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs 109, 999 police and 333 helpline through the immediate assistance system.
