On the other hand, the promise made by the Yunus government to Hindu leaders regarding the protection of minorities has completely failed. On Saturday, an elderly Hindu couple in Taraganj in the northern district of Rangpur was brutally murdered by strongmen in the dark of night. The victims of the murder were the brave freedom fighter and former primary school headmaster Yogesh Chandra and his wife Suborna Roy. This incident has caused extreme panic among the Hindu-dominated residents of the area. In addition, a storm of protest has swept across the country over the murder of the Yogesh couple.
The murder in Rangpur has already caused strong reactions among various political parties and left organizations. Bangladesh Workers Party Acting President Mahmudul Hasan Manik and Acting General Secretary Nur Ahmed Bakul expressed strong condemnation and anger over the murder of Bir Muktijoddha School Headmaster Yogesh Chandra and his wife Suborna Roy in a statement.
The leaders said that Dr. Yunus’ government has become completely useless in running it. It is not able to provide security to the lives and property of the people of the country. Because he is running the country with state terrorism and mob terrorism. Murder, disappearance, rape continue every day. The minority tribal hill people are being tortured every day and there is no remedy for this. The reign of insecurity and fear is going on. The incident in Taraganj has further terrified the minority Hindu community. The culprits should be arrested immediately and punished under the law.
The Democratic United Front has expressed deep concern over the hacking to death of a freedom fighter couple in Taraganj, Rangpur and the incidents of killings, murders and violence across the country.

In the statement, the leaders said that the law and order situation has deteriorated drastically across the country. There is no security for people’s lives and property. As soon as you open the newspaper, you see news of murders, violence, and mob terrorism. The news of the murder of freedom fighter Yogesh and his wife. At the same time, there are numerous news of the murder of a farmer in Gazipur, the murder of a young man in Jessore, the murder of a young man by a bat in Jhenaidah, the murder of a wife in Habiganj, and the murder of a mother and daughter in Mohammadpur in the capital on Monday. People are suffering from insecurity in their lives. The government is showing extreme failure in controlling the law and order situation.
In the statement, the leaders said that the murder of Yogesh and his wife Suborna Roy in their own house in Rangpur is very worrying. The leaders demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the murder. At the same time, they strongly demanded the government to take strict steps to ensure the safety of people’s lives and property and control the law and order situation.
