POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 21, 2024 : Nazmul Hasan Papon has officially resigned from the post of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president. This long-time guardian of BCB announced his resignation by participating virtually in the emergency board meeting held at the Ministry of Sports on Wednesday.
BCB confirmed this information in a press release.
Papon went into hiding after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5. A few days later, he announced the policy decision to resign through a board director. Finally, Papon officially announced today.
On October 17, 2012, Papon took over as BCB president. Finally, he resigned from the post of BCB chief on Wednesday (August 21) after serving for 13 years.
During his long tenure, Papon came under criticism at various times. Sri Lankan coach Chandika Hathurusingha has to take the responsibility of creating discomfort in the cricket community by announcing the appointment of the coach of the Bangladesh team for the second term and the infighting between the players.
