POBNEWS24, Dhaka Apr 2, 2024 : The Embassy of Saudi Arabia has hosted an iftar in honour of political leaders, diplomats stationed in Dhaka and journalists on April 1, 2024.
Deputy Head of Mission Abdulaziz Fahad M Alibrahim hosted the iftar on behalf of the Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Essa bin Yousef Al Duhailan at the Embassy.
A large number of Bangladeshi expatriate workers are employed in Saudi Arabia. Bangladesh earns billions of dollars through those expatriate workers. It should be noted that about 30% of Bangladesh’s total remittances come from Saudi Arabia and the country’s development activities have created an opportunity to send more skilled human resources from Bangladesh in engineering, information technology services, education and healthcare sectors. Prayers are offered for the welfare of Muslims around the world during the Iftar ceremony.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, senior government officials and civil society members were also present.
