POBNEWS24, Desk report, Dhaka Apr 2, 2024 : Tensions between India and China over Arunachal Pradesh have resurfaced. 30 places in Arunachal have been renamed by Beijing. China has even said that these new names will be effective from May 1.

On Monday (April 1), China announced the names of 30 regions of Arunachal as their own. In this regard, the country revealed the Chinese names of different areas of the province in the fourth round.

This time, China named 11 residential areas, 12 mountainous areas, 4 rivers, 1 lake, 1 pass and 1 empty land. This list has been published on the website of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China and it has been informed that these names are going to be effective from the first day of next month.

Earlier, in 2017, 2021 and 2023, China named different areas of Arunachal as their own three times. In 2017, the Chinese names of six places in Arunachal were published for the first time. Later, China released the list of 15 places in the second phase in 2021 and 11 more in the third phase in 2023.

Meanwhile, the issue has naturally angered India. The country’s foreign minister S Jaishankar said clearly, if you give a new name to your house, will the house become mine? There is no use in naming these things. Arunachal was, is and will remain an integral part of India.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that China acted like a fool. A new name will not change the reality. Arunachal was, is and will remain an integral part of India. This new name of Beijing will not be accepted in any way.

Arunachal is claimed by China as its state ‘Zhangnan’. They have been having a long-standing dispute with India over the issue. On the one hand, India claims that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India, on the other hand, China is also claiming the province as its own.

Recently Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two long tunnels in this state. The tunnels were essential for both armies.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs claims that Beijing started a new dispute over Arunachal after the tunnel was inaugurated. Since then, China started promoting in international circles that Zhangnan i.e. Arunachal is their part.

Meanwhile, a TMC leader in Kolkata said that Narendra Modi is the enemy of all India. His party was born out of religious extremism.
