POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 27, 2022 : Speakers at a workshop said that Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park will play a strong role in increasing domestic and foreign investment in the information technology sector in Bangladesh in the future.
They said, new entrepreneurs are coming forward with new business ideas in the sector. By ensuring the maximum use of the opportunities created by the fourth industrial revolution, Bangladesh will move towards rapid economic prosperity.
They expressed this optimism at a workshop titled ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution: Preparation and Challenges of Information Technology Sector in Bangladesh’ at the Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jessore.
It was organized by the Department of Information today.
Innovation Team Leader and Senior Deputy Chief Information Officer of Information Department Abdul Jalil spoke as the main speaker.
Senior information officer of the Department of Information H. M. Major (retd) MU Sikdar, General Manager of Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park IT Engineer Shuklal Kumar, Md. Nahidul Islam, Co-Founder of Kenner Hut, Md. Shahjalal, Managing Director of Technosoft Global Limited, Md. Benazir Alam, Manager of Sikho Technologies Bangladesh Limited, spoke at the workshop conducted by Masum Billah.
Senior Deputy Chief Information Officer Abdul Jalil said that Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park is the cradle of the country’s ICT industry. IT industry entrepreneurs from home and abroad will come forward with new investment ideas here. This park has provided huge employment opportunities in the IT sector in Jessore outside the capital Dhaka.
“New ideas will come out through start-ups with the benefit of this software park. From here successful new business as well as new employment opportunities will be created”.
He advised entrepreneurs for marketing various traditional products of Jessore on e-commerce platforms.
Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park was established on 12 acres of land at the cost of Tk 310 crore in Nazir Shankarpur area of Jessore town.
After the workshop, the members of the Innovation Team of the Department of Information visited the activities of the Software Technology Park.
