POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Jul 31,2021: Bangladesh Information and Broadcasting Minister Hassan Mahmood said that some foreign media are deliberately publishing false and untrue news against the country and the government, which is never desirable.
Minister was responding to a question from reporters at the end of a financial aid distribution program for affected journalists in Rangpur by joining online from his official residence in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
Information minister Hasan Mahmud said that some online portals were operated from abroad, they were constantly slandering the country, spreading propaganda and spreading many rumors. At the same time, we see some well-known foreign media outlets publishing false and untrue reports against the country and the government.
Mentioning some foreign media programs, especially the ‘phone in’ program. Hassan said, “They plan in advance to bring in phone calls through people who say they are against the government. And certain people are interviewed who are known to be anti-government. And to make that report credible, some of us were interviewed. But their main goal is to publish a report and criticize the government. This is not the work of a good media.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s remarks that the government is establishing a reign of corruption, in response to another question from reporters, Awami League joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud said, “When the BNP was in power, the country under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia became the world champion in corruption five times in a row, once the joint champion. They do not like to speak against corruption.
Minister Hasan Mahmud said, ‘Mirza Fakhrul was an educated man, he used to teach in Dhaka College. The per capita income has risen from 600 to 2,228, which is higher than in India. In the last 12 and a half years, per capita income has quadrupled and purchasing power has doubled. These do not catch the eye of Mirza Fakhrul Sahib, which is very surprising and sad.
Earlier, in an online speech at the journalists’ aid check distribution function, the minister lauded the work of the journalists and said, “Our fearless journalists are working with life in Corona.” At this time, the people of all regions of the village and city to comply with the health rules, he said.
Zafar Wazed, Managing Director of Journalist Welfare Trust, Asif Ahsan, Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur, Mahabubur Rahman, President of Rangpur Press Club, Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, President of District Awami League and others spoke online at the check distribution ceremony organized by Rangpur District Administration and Press Club.
