Doctor Narayan Banerjee has been seen in the forefront of this movement since the beginning. He was also seen taking part in Droh’s carnival this week.
On Thursday, the same Narayan attended a meeting with Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh. The meeting lasted for about an hour at the office of a news daily in Kolkata. After the meeting, both Narayan and Kunal said that they will not talk about the content of the meeting in front of the media. Narayan said, “I came to discuss personal matters, with the individual Kunal Ghosh, not with the spokesperson of the Trinamool.” Junior doctors informed that they do not have any information about this meeting. They did not know that Narayan was going to have a meeting.
Narayan gave a video message on social media on Friday morning. There he claimed that doctors and medical circles – both sides are adamant in their positions. As a result, the deadlock is not ending. Both sides have to be flexible and negotiate to break the deadlock. He discussed this issue with Kunal Ghosh. There has been talk about how to overcome the deadlock.
It should be noted that Kunal Ghosh has been criticizing this movement since the beginning. There have been several controversies over his various statements and comments.
After this statement of Narayan Banerjee, a statement was issued by the organization Joint Platform of Doctors. It is said there, ‘We do not know whether Narayan Banerjee is a representative of any medical organization. He can meet anyone in person, but no one has given him the right to the mission of junior-senior doctors and people’s united movement.’ The statement said that the platform of senior doctors feels that Narayan’s role is against the movement. And they are not supporting his work.
Trinamool has not yet given any official statement on this matter. Note that the hunger strike of junior doctors is still going on. Six people had to be hospitalized in critical condition. Aniket Mahato was recently discharged from the hospital.
