POBNEWS24, Desk report Oct 27, 2024 : India’s Union Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah said that the land port has been modernized so that Bangladeshi passengers can travel freely to India. Passenger facilities have been doubled as compared to earlier.
He said, there is a separate modern terminal for import-export of goods which is one of the countries in Asia.
It has been developed keeping in mind the businessmen of Bangladesh. He advised the people of West Bengal that if Narendra Modi’s government is in power, people will develop. He said that if you vote for BJP in the upcoming 2026 election, your facilities will improve. Along with this, the quality of life of the people of this Haridaspur area will be further modernized and improved. Amit Shah said that the people of West Bengal have enjoyed various facilities under the Narendra Modi government which they did not get in the past.
It should be noted that Union Home Minister Amit Shah said this on the occasion of the inauguration of the modern passenger terminal at Petrapol port in India on Sunday (October 27).
Meanwhile, for his safety, the immigration authorities of India closed the passage of passengers with passports at the Benapole-Petropole port from 9 am.
Passengers with passports suffer because of this.
Import and export were closed for half a day on Sunday, citing the same security.
Benapole Checkpost Immigration Officer-in-Charge (OC) Imtiaz Bhuiyan informed this information. He said, ‘Immigration process will be started only if the Indian authorities give permission.
Vice President of Benapole Import-Export Association Aminul Haque said that trade was closed on this road for three days last Friday on a public holiday. Businessmen are facing huge financial losses.
