POBNEWS24, Dhaka Oct 30, 2023 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought prayers from Imams for the continued development of Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the National Imam Conference-2023 at Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Rupganj, Narayanganj on Monday (October 30) at 11:00 am. At that time, he was accompanied by the special guest of Saudi Arabia’s Masjid-e-Nabbir Imam Shaikh Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdur Rahman Al Buayzan.
On reaching the Imam Conference, the Prime Minister first went to the designated place and introduced the Imam of Masjid-e-Nabbir to everyone. He said, our main program will start a little later. I brought him before you for your convenience.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister asked Imams for prayers for the continued development of Bangladesh.
Under the chairmanship of State Minister of Religion Faridul Haque Khan, local member of Parliament and Minister of Textiles and Jute Golam Dastgir Gazi, President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Religion Hafez Ruhul Amin Madani, Khatib of National Mosque Mufti Ruhul Amin, Secretary of Religion Mu. A. Hamid Jamaddar, members of the Council of Ministers, members of parliament and government officials, about one lakh trained imams from all over the country attended the conference.
On this day, the Prime Minister will distribute awards among the best imams and world-winning Hafez at the national level. Besides, the inauguration of 50 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers will be announced in the sixth phase.
It is known that the government took a project of 9,435 crore rupees in 2017 to build Islamic cultural centers and model mosques in every district and upazila of the country as well as in all municipalities. Under this project, it is planned to build 564 model mosques across the country.
So far, the Prime Minister has inaugurated 250 model mosques and Islamic centers at various levels across the country. With the inauguration of 50 new model mosques and Islamic cultural centers today, this number will stand at three hundred.
