POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 8, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi on a five-day state visit. He is on a visit at the invitation of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport at 7.40 pm local time on Monday (March 8). There he was given a red carpet reception and a guard of honor.
On arrival at the Abu Dhabi International Airport, the Prime Minister was received by the country’s Minister of Culture and Youth Nawra Bint Mohammad Al Kabi, Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE Mohammad Abu Jafar, Mrs. Abu Jafar and other senior officials.
After the guard of honor at the airport, the Prime Minister was taken to Sangrila Hotel. That is where he will stay.
Earlier, Sheikh Hasina left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for the UAE at 4.15 pm.
On the second day of her five-day state visit, the Prime Minister will visit the Dubai Expo 2020 on Tuesday (March 8) at noon. There, she will take part in a panel discussion on ‘Redefining the Future for Women’, organized to mark International Women’s Day. The Prime Minister will then visit the Bangladesh Pavilion there.
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will have a meeting with UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at Dubai Expo 2020.
He will meet with Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (March 9th) morning. He will then pay a courtesy call on Sheikh Fatima Bint Mubarak, the mother of the UAE. Bangladesh Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates at night. The Prime Minister will take part in the dinner given by Abu Jafar.
On Thursday (March 10) morning, FAO will take part in the inaugural session of the Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific. In the afternoon, UAE and Bangladeshi businessmen will take part in the event.
On Friday (March 11) evening, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will take part in a reception hosted by the expatriate Bangladeshi community living in the UAE. From the same ceremony, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Bhaban of Bangladesh English Private School and College in Ras Al Khaimah.
Foreign Minister is accompanying the Prime Minister. AK Abdul Momen, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Affairs Minister Imran Ahmed, PM’s Adviser on Private Industries and Investment Salman Fazlur Rahman, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nesa Indira.
FBCCI President is in the business delegation. Top businessmen of the country including Jasim Uddin, President of Bangladesh Jewelers Association, Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group.
After the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to return home on the night of March 12.
