POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 21, 2022 : Participating in the general discussion on the proposed budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year in Parliament, members of the government and the opposition said that the Prime Minister had built the Padma Bridge with his own funds to meet the challenges. This bridge will change the image of the whole country. They further said that the conspiracy is still going on. Everyone should be warned about this.

Speaker Dr. presided over the discussion in the National Assembly session on Monday. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and panel president AB Tajul Islam. Former Health Minister Prof. took part in the discussion. AFM Ruhul Haque, Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Government Party Kazi Keramat Ali, Begum Munira Sultana, Muhibur Rahman Manik, Zillul Hakim, Narayan Chandra Chand, Benazir Ahmed, Tahajib Alam Siddiqui, Gloria Jharna Sarkar, Begum Habiba Rahman Khan, , Rana Mohammad Sohail, Salma Chowdhury and Adiba Anjum Mita and Masud Uddin Chowdhury of the Opposition Jatiya Party and Major (Retd.) Abdul Mannan of Alternative Bangladesh.

Professor took part in the discussion. AFM Ruhul Haque said that the development of the last 13 years of the present government cannot be finished. At this time the picture of the whole country has changed. He has shocked the whole world by constructing the dream Padma Bridge with his own funds by tackling various national and international conspiracies and obstacles. Corona has successfully tackled people across the country with free vaccines due to the Prime Minister’s far-sighted decision, which is being appreciated by the world.

Highlighting the development picture of the government, Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed said that the way the country is moving forward today under the leadership of Awami League government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is being appreciated all over the world. But BNP does not see that development. This detached party is still trying to seize power through conspiracy. He called upon the people to remain united under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina to continue the trend of development and progress.

Congratulating the Prime Minister on the construction of the Padma Bridge, Major (Retd.) Abdul Mannan, Secretary General of Alternative Bangladesh, said that the Prime Minister has built the Padma Bridge with his own funds. Through this, on the one hand, Sheikh Hasina has gained recognition in the world as a confident and determined statesman, on the other hand, the world has also come to know the potential of Bangladesh. It has enhanced the image of the country.

He said that the proposed budget was a good opportunity to bring back the money smuggled abroad, adding that many countries of the world invest in bringing back the smuggled money in various arts and techniques. We too can bring back this money and invest in capital market or industry.

MP Muhibur Rahman Manik described the ongoing floods in Sylhet-Sunamganj as a major flood of remembrance. He said that although the BNP MP tried to show humanity about the floods today, his party did not stand by the people affected by the floods of 1995 and 2004 to stay in power. In the flood of August 1995, I saw a cake weighing 61 kg being cut.

Muhibur Rahman said that this information is not correct in the 122-year history of catastrophic floods. Cherrapunji has a record rainfall of 122 years in a single day. I will not say that there has not been such a big flood in the history of 122 years. However, I have seen the floods of 198, 1995, 1996, 2004 and 2016. I think the biggest flood of all time. Most people have suffered. The educational institutions of the country have to be built in such a way to deal with the floods. The source of Surma Kushiyara and Meghna rivers needs to be excavated. The haor reservoir is full. Water must be channeled from the canals. If we can do this, we will be able to overcome this situation.

Criticizing the opportunity to bring back the money smuggled abroad, Jatiya Party’s Masud Uddin Chowdhury said the people accused in money laundering cases abroad want to take this opportunity. They will have to follow a process. This will create legal complications. So I demand to withdraw the proposal. He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for implementing one major project after another in the country including the Padma Bridge.

Member of Parliament Narayan Chandra Chand called for increasing the budget allocation for coastal development. He said there have been many national and international conspiracies over the Padma Bridge. But Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has overcome all the conspiracies and built the Padma Bridge with her own funds. Which will play a big role in the economic development of the whole country, not just the south.

Munira Sultana of the ruling party said that the BNP gets upset when it sees the development of the government. They are the enemies of the country and the people of the country. Failing in all cases, they are involved in various conspiracies. They are daring to threaten to kill Bangabandhu daughter Sheikh Hasina. Again, if the BNP leaders make such threats, the men will not be needed, we women will respond to them on the streets with broken teeth.

Kazi Keramat Ali criticized the BNP, saying there were two governments during the BNP rule. One is the building and the other is Khaleda Zia’s government. Thousands of crores of rupees have been smuggled abroad through Hawa Bhaban. Today they say big things. He has built the Padma Bridge with the challenge of overcoming hundreds of conspiracies. We are hopeful that he will also build the second Padma bridge at Dauldia-Paturia.

Tahajib Alam Siddiqui said, Padma bridge is our golden bridge. Symbol of ability. The BNP has lost its way by being isolated from the people. The image of the country is being tarnished by lying to the foreigners who cannot do anything in the country. Trying to confuse the people of the country by lying. But the people of the country will not accept any of their conspiracies.

Abida Anjum Mita referred to the BNP as a murderous party and said that Ziaur Rahman had stopped the trial with indemnity because he was involved in the assassination of Bangabandhu. BNP-Jamaat planned to stay in Hawa Bhaban to stay in power and carried out a grenade attack on August 21 to assassinate Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina. Now they are dreaming of coming to power through the back door. But that day will never come to them again, the dream of BNP will never be fulfilled.
