Tribute to the language martyrs in the first morning with limited arrangements

POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Feb 21,2022: In the early hours of the International Mother Language Day, people of all walks of life paid their respects to the language martyrs. This year’s event has been limited to avoiding public gatherings due to Corona Atimari. In other years, the President and the Prime Minister started paying their respects in the early hours of the morning, but this time they did not go to the Shaheed Minar in person due to Corona Atimari.

On the first morning of Martyr’s Day, at 12:01 pm, their military secretaries laid wreaths at the Shaheed Minar on behalf of Ekushey’s song ‘Ekushey February painted in my brother’s blood, can I forget’.

On behalf of President Abdul Hamid, his Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam and on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina his Military Secretary Major General Naqib Ahmed Chowdhury laid a wreath.  

 

Later, on behalf of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, the party’s presidium members Begum Matia Chowdhury, Nurul Islam Nahid, Shahjahan Khan, Mofazzal Chowdhury Maya, Joint General Secretary, Hasan Mahmud and other senior leaders of the party paid their respects.  

Later, Sergeant at Arms Commodore Mia Mohammad Naeem Rahman of Parliament Secretariat, Assistant Sergeant at Arms Golam Shahriar on behalf of the Deputy Speaker, Minister Dipu Moni on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Deputy Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff. Senior party leaders including Golam Sarwar on behalf of Chief Whip, Jatiya Party General Secretary Mujibul Haque Chunnu on behalf of Leader of Opposition Raushan Ershad.

Ambassador, High Commissioner, Panel Mayor on behalf of Dhaka South City Corporation, War-wounded freedom fighters, Attorney General Abu Md. Amin Uddin, Leaders of 14 Central Parties, Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, Vice-Chancellor, Senate, Syndicate Members, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Medical Association, Dhaka University Teachers Association, Dhaka University Alumni Association, RADAB, Bangla Academy, Bangladesh Labor Commission, Human Rights Commission Language He paid homage to the martyrs.

The central Shaheed Minar was then opened to the public to pay homage to the language martyrs. In order to ensure health protection in the Corona situation and to avoid public gatherings, a maximum of 5 delegates from each organization and a maximum of 2 persons from individual level laid wreaths at the Shaheed Minar.
