POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 20, 2022 : The funeral of legendary Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne has been completed. About 70 people, including family members, relatives and friends, attended the funeral on Sunday at the St. Kilda Football Club ground in Melbourne.
Warne’s parents, Keith Warne and Bridgetta Warne, said goodbye to their son. And Jackson, Brooke and Sam say goodbye to their father.
Former Aussie cricketers Mark Taylor, Alan Border, Michael Clarke, Marv Hughes, Glenn McGrath, Mark Waugh, Ian Healy and former England captain Michael Vaughan were present at the funeral.
Warne’s close friend and TV personality Eddie McGuire conducted the funeral. “Warne was a superhero,” he said, praising the late Warne. Shane Warne’s funeral will be held on March 30 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). 50,000 tickets have been provided free of cost on the occasion of the funeral to be held by the state government. The MCG’s Southern Stand will also be renamed Warne.
It is to be noted that on March 4, at the age of 52, Warne left for the land of no return. At the time of his death, the legend was staying at the luxurious Samujana Villa in Koh Samui, Thailand.
