India has again stated its position on Bangladesh election. New Delhi says the election is Bangladesh’s internal matter.
This was said by the new spokesperson Randhir Jaisawal at the weekly briefing of the Ministry of External Affairs of India on Thursday (January 4).
A journalist asked the spokesperson of India – Election are going to be held in Bangladesh on January 7. Questions are being raised about the acceptability of the election. Because the main opposition party is not participating in the election. What is India’s position on this matter? In response, Jaisawal said, we have been constantly saying about the election of Bangladesh – the election of Bangladesh are their internal matter. The people of Bangladesh will decide their destiny.
Jaisawal did not comment on the question whether India will send election observation.
However, according to diplomatic sources, a senior deputy election commissioner of India, Dharmendra Sharma, arrived in Dhaka on Thursday at the invitation of the Election Commission of Bangladesh. The delegation will stay in Bangladesh until the results of the election are announced on January 9.
