A Correspondent, POBNEWS24, Rajnagar (Moulvibazar) : Social organization ‘Image Foundation’ has started distribution of wheelchair among the physically challenged people in different areas of Sylhet.
The division-wise distribution programme started by giving a chair to a disabled youth of Mohalal village of Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar district recently.
Chairman of Image Foundation and Managing Director of Imagetex Limited was present at this time.
Syed Ankar Ali, a prominent social worker of Mahalal village, presided over the event.
Moderated by journalist Ahmadur Rahman Imran, news agency Reuter’s Bangladesh Correspondent Ruma Paul was among the guests.
Daily Manabzamin’s diplomatic reporter Mizanur Rahman, president of Rajnagar Press Club Awal Kalam Beg, vice president of the Press Club and senior teacher Shankar Dulal Deb, senior teacher of Mahalal High School Hafizur Rahman, general secretary of Rajnagar Press Club Abdur Rahman Sohail, Maju Ahmad, social worker Zuair Ahmad, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Belal Ahmad of Image Foundation said that although the activities of Image Foundation started from the capital, special importance is now being given to Sylhet for its roots. A target of distribution of half a hundred wheelchairs has been taken up in Sylhet division by 2023.
