POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 25, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that after the brutal killings of the 75th century, the path to justice was blocked by the illegal transfer of power. Politics is given to anti-independence people. We prosecuted all political killings after coming to power.
He said this at the National Conference of Freedom Physicians Parishad at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Friday (November 25) afternoon.
Sheikh Hasina said that the punishment of some murderers has not been confirmed yet. One killer in America, another in Canada, two in Pakistan. The whereabouts of another is not available. America is raising a murderer. Of course, this is how America behaves. Even so, we have efforts to catch them and ensure punishment anyway. That’s what I want.
He said that the distortion of history started after the killings of 75. Attempts were made to erase Bangabandhu’s name. Bangabandhu’s speeches and Jai Bangla slogans were also banned. Attempts to seize power through illegal assassination-cum-conspiracy. The constitution made by the father of the nation was also mutilated.
He also said that the anti-independence people did not have the right to vote. Ziaur Rahman gave them the right to vote and to do politics. The killers of the Father of the Nation were also spared from prosecution.
Earlier, the Prime Minister attended the conference organized at Suhrawardy Udyan at 3 pm. Then he inaugurated the conference by blowing balloons and flags. General Secretary of Awami League and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader were also present in the event.
