POBNEWS24, Dhaka Sept 22, 2026 : The 5-day “4th Made in Pakistan Exhibition and Business Investment Conference” kicked off today, September 22, 2026, at the Basundhura International Convention City in Dhaka, aiming to bolster bilateral trade, diversify exports, and foster direct Business-to-Business (B2B) linkages. Organized by the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry (PAEI), the grand opening of this international expo drew high-profile diplomats, government officials, and leading business tycoons from both Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Speaking as a Special Guest, Mohammad Hassan Arif, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive (Additional Secretary) of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Bangladesh, emphasized the significance of effective communication between the trading communities of the two nations. “In today’s highly competitive global market, strengthening bilateral commercial cooperation and exploring untapped markets are critical. Multi-national exhibitions like this play a pivotal role in establishing direct B2B networks,” Mr. Arif stated. He further noted that to sustain economic growth, focusing on export diversification is crucial, reiterating that the Bangladesh government remains fully committed to providing comprehensive policy support to private sector entrepreneurs.
In his address, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh, Imran Haidar, highlighted the vast, untapped potential for economic synergy. “A new horizon of trade relations is emerging between Bangladesh and Pakistan. This exhibition is not merely a display of consumer goods; it serves as a powerful bridge to enhance connectivity, mutual understanding, and strategic partnerships between our business communities,” the High Commissioner remarked. He expressed optimism that direct trade engagements would effectively reduce trade deficits and reinforce socioeconomic and cultural ties between the two South Asian nations.
Inaugurating the expo as the Chief Guest, the Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau of Pakistan, Arif Hussain, underscored the shared strengths of both economies. “Both countries possess immense expertise and potential in textiles, leather, handicrafts, and processed food. Regular trade expos and investment conferences will pave the way for strategic joint ventures, injecting fresh dynamism into the broader South Asian regional economy,” Mr. Hussain asserted. Welcome remarks were also delivered by PAEI Chairman Fahad Barlas and Founder Chairman Khurshid Barlas.
The opening day witnessed a massive influx of entrepreneurs, trade visitors, and retail shoppers. Over 50 premium Pakistani brands are showcasing a diverse array of products, including high-end fabrics and lawn suits, herbal cosmetics, traditional cuisine, spices, and home decor. The exhibition will remain open to the public with free admission daily from 10:30 AM to 08:00 PM until September 26, 2026.
