A drone attack was carried out by separatist armed groups on the Kadugli logistics base under the UN peacekeeping mission in the Abyei area of Sudan on Saturday from approximately 3:40 pm to 3:50 pm local time. In the attack, 6 Bangladeshi peacekeepers on duty were killed and 8 peacekeepers were seriously injured. According to ISPR press release.

Sergeant Md. Mostakim Hossain, Bir (Dinajpur)
Corporal Afroza Parvin Iti, Signals (Dhaka)
Lance Corporal Mohibul Islam, EME (Barguna)
Private Md. Mejbaul Kabir, Bir (Kurigram)
Private Mosah Umme Hani Akhter, Eng. (Rangpur)
Soldier Chumki Akhter, Ordnance (Manikganj)
Soldier Md. Manazir Ahsan, Bir (Noakhali)
The injured peacekeepers are being provided with necessary medical treatment. Among them, Soldier Md. Mejbaul Kabir has already undergone successful surgery as his condition is critical and he is currently under close observation. The other 07 injured have been transferred by helicopter for better treatment and all of them are out of danger.
The Bangladesh Army strongly condemns this brutal terrorist attack. The sacrifice of the martyred peacekeepers will be a bright and glorious sign of Bangladesh’s commitment to establishing world peace.
The Bangladesh Army expresses its deep condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs and wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.
