POBNEWS24, Dhaka Jan 12, 2024 : BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi commented that Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is surrounded by an unknown fear.
He said that the issuance of notification before the completion of the term of the Parliament, hasty swearing-in ceremony and the formation of the government in an unprecedented speed have proved that Sheikh Hasina is surrounded by unknown fear.
He said this at a press conference at the party’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Friday (January 12).
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the people of the country and the democratic world have rejected the election. The process, the person, the results, the oath, the parliament and the government are all unacceptable. Awami League formed the government in arranged elections even though the people boycotted the vote.
About the new cabinet, he said, what will we say about this cabinet? It’s dummy; I don’t want to talk about this cabinet. Sheikh Hasina established a one-party parliament with the support of her own people without any announcement.
Claiming that the international community continues to support the democratic aspirations of the people of Bangladesh, the BNP leader said, they (foreigners) have rejected the democracy of rigged elections and voice-suppression by Sheikh Hasina through the sleeping Election Commission.
The government’s bulldozing of opposition criticism is well known. No one recognized this fraudulent dummy election. Soon this government will be lost in the sand. Because they have broken all records of oppression to stay in power illegally and have been considered as enemies of the world humanity.
Pointing out that it is the Awami League candidates, who lost in the election, mentioned about vote rigging, Rizvi said that it is the defeated leaders of the Awami League who are giving the title of Prime Minister with illegal vote to Sheikh Hasina. This time, in the name of the election, they are presenting the fact that the vote was stolen by holding a press conference.
A singer who sold electricity in Parliament area said, expatriate dead people’s votes have also been cast. Abdus Sobhan Golap, the defeated candidate of Awami League and the campaign secretary of Awami League, said that the vote was rigged due to the miraculous power working in the election. The BNP leader observed that Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu, the defeated candidate of Awami League of Barguna-1 constituency, said that the result of the vote was made with one hand.
