POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 16, 2025 : Current world competition. Here, success depends on the country’s governance system, the welfare achieved by the people, the financial solvency of most of the people. Almost all countries in the world today are independent, but they have different methods of governance. In a democratically elected government system, there is an environment of competition for the welfare of the people, so the people of the country can expect greater well-being or progress. A free country naturally has a constitution. A significant aspect of the constitution is to establish economic justice for the people of the country. Only if there is social justice in a democratic government system, economic freedom is ensured.
The need for political parties in democratic governance is undeniable. If there is a healthy political environment in the country, then during the election to change the government, the people can exercise their right to vote by making a comparative review. Of course, although it is certain that those who are committed to their respective political parties will vote for their respective parties, the government is not formed or changed by their votes. The government is formed or changed by the votes of the masses.
During elections, the constitution of a political party, such as the public support of an important political party, is an important issue. The party leader selection process is also a consideration. If there is no training command or order in the party and there may be problems in forming the cabinet, there may be problems in implementing decisions in governing the country. If there is no democratic system in the party, then even after forming the government, it is often difficult to govern the country due to the party’s sorrow. One of the examples of this is the Awami League’s rule of the country for the past 15 years. I think Bangladesh received the title of the best country of the year 2024 by the British magazine The Economist due to the fall of the Awami League government in 2024 due to the mass uprising of the student population. This title has encouraged us.
This country gained independence through a nine-month bloody war in 1971. The country has been governed for a long time for 53 years.
Efforts are being made for the well-being of the people. All the government demands are being made and are working for the well-being. As a freedom fighter like me, I feel that the dream that the people were asked to see in 1971 has not been realized. Several more blood has been shed for this economic liberation. In continuation of that, the new journey of the country’s economic liberation begins again in 2024. The demand of a freedom fighter like me to the current political parties is that the journey of economic liberation should not stop.
In 2024, the population of Bangladesh will be 180 million. Out of these 180 million people, 40 million are poor and cannot earn enough to meet their own food and medical expenses. The people of Bangladesh will live their lives according to their needs, but this cannot be accepted after the independence they earned with their blood. Since they are not able to earn enough to support their children’s education. But according to the Constitution of Bangladesh, this is the responsibility of the government. Article 16 of the Constitution states that the state and the government are responsible for meeting basic needs. But the reality of Bangladesh is different, so many are deprived of this opportunity, as a result, the children of the poor remain poor. The past government demanded to fulfill this responsibility. My question is about the honesty of the government. The government has made efforts and has work, but the people are not getting the benefits. Like many news reports, recently a news report said that 433 million taka was wasted on livestock: factories have become workers, laboratories have become scientists (Prothom Alo 21 December 2024). That is, there is expenditure in the country but there is no development. The government is spending money for the development of the people, but the people of the country are not getting the benefits. Recently, a news report said, “In 15 years, most of the country’s communication infrastructure projects have been at the top of the world in terms of construction costs (Bonik Barta, August 8, 2024). The development and reputation of a country depends on the honesty and competence of the government. Political parties exist only when there is a democratic election system. Political parties try to do good work with the hope of getting the support of the people. An environment of competition for good work is created. And then the people of the country can hope for development.

The main stakeholder of a democratically run country is the political party of that country. Therefore, in a democratic environment, a patriotic political party is as important as it is necessary. If a political party can do well in that competition, their acceptance increases, and the needs of the people are met. Just as a patriotic political party needs a good leader, it also needs good and relatively large number of members. This activity is successful only when there is a well-organized workforce in the political party. No one can suddenly become good, but one can suddenly become bad, so one cannot suddenly become good, so one has to start good work in a long-term plan. If a political party can start the work of introducing rules and regulations, then it is easy to achieve its benefits. It is difficult to control the workforce or start something new in the middle.
If a political party can start its organizational work in a democratic system and keep it going regularly, then it is easy for that party to run the state. It is definitely a must for a newly formed party. If a party starts its organizational activities from the grassroots level, like in the social system of Bangladesh, it can collect its members from the ward and store them in its own database. This database will contain personal information including photo and family information. Ward committees will be formed by the votes of ward members. Later, the union committee will form the ward committee, the district committee will form the police station committee, and the central committee will form the district committee. Each committee will have a term of two/three years. Each committee will have a year. Each committee will hold two seminars a year, one political and the other economic. At least the president, general secretary, and office secretary of the committee will have a monthly salary. Committee membership and expenses must be paid through the bank. Since the annual accounts of the political party have to be audited, it is better not to pay. Since the political party is the only claimant to the rule of the country, the progress and decline of the country depends on the activities of the political party. In the current political change in Bangladesh, an opportunity has come for organizational reform. Reform work has started in the country. The political party must start the reform work on its own without wasting it. This is the demand of the people of the country. And we must taste the politics of development, not the politics of slogans. Only then will the people of this country benefit. I want to taste the freedom earned with blood. Almighty Allah has said that I open the door of poverty for the one whose hand I extend to help. The honesty of the government is needed to ensure economic freedom by educating the people of the country with quality education. Our youth will not be deprived of family life by going abroad with a job as a laborer. After being educated with quality education, they will go abroad with a good job and their families. They will be accompanied by both mental and financial success. We must remember that politics is a noble profession that comes with service. Otherwise, a tarnished history will be created. We do not want to see the current situation of Bangladesh as it is. Only then will we get the taste of freedom earned in exchange for a sea of blood.
