She got caught while getting married for the ninth time

POBNEWS24, Desk report, Dhaka Aug 1, 2025 : She married eight men one by one and stole lakhs of rupees from them. She was looking for whom to marry for the ninth time. Just before that, the woman from Nagpur, Maharashtra was caught by the police. Her name is Samira Fatima alias Lutera Dulhan.
Police said that the arrested Samira used to trap men one after another and get married to them. Later, she would blackmail them on various pretexts and collect a huge amount of money. Another gang was working with her in this fraud. According to Wall report.
Initial investigation revealed that she is actually a teacher. Police suspect that the highly educated Samira had been continuing such fraud for 15 years. She mainly targeted married and well-off men from the Muslim community. She would sometimes cry and tell stories of her ‘plight’. She claimed that she herself was a divorced woman. She has a child and is going through a lot of trouble in her life. And in this way, she would build relationships with everyone by gaining sympathy.
She would contact his ‘victims’ through multiple Facebook profiles, WhatsApp numbers and matrimonial websites. Once a relationship was established, he would propose marriage. Later, after marriage, the blackmail would start. If someone did not want to pay, he would threaten them and make false complaints to the police.
One victim said that Sameera had extorted Rs 50 lakh from him and Rs 15 lakh from another. He had collected this money through cash and bank transfer. It has been alleged that even several Reserve Bank officials had fallen into his trap of cheating.
There had been an attempt to arrest her once before. But that time she escaped from the police by claiming that she was pregnant. Finally, the police caught her on July 29 from a tea shop in Nagpur.
