In this situation, a Biman Kathmandu-bound flight returned near Tribhuvan Airport on Tuesday. On the other hand, another Biman flight was supposed to return members of the Bangladesh national football team from Kathmandu. They are also stranded there.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Public Relations Department General Manager ABM Rawshan Kabir said that the BG 371 flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu left on time. But as all flights at the airport were canceled, the plane had to return with 114 passengers even after going close. Kathmandu Post reported that international flights have been suspended from 12:45 pm today. The airport authorities issued a warning after smoke was seen near the capital’s Koteshwar area. Although the airport’s general manager Hans Raj Pandey said, “The airport has not been closed, we will not close it.” However, activities have been limited in compliance with all warnings.
