POBNEWS24, Dhaka Nov 20, 2025 : A modern warship of the Russian Navy docked at the Chittagong port on Monday (November 17). The ship arrived at the Chittagong port as part of a five-day goodwill visit.
The Chief Staff Officer of the Chittagong Naval Region welcomed the officers and sailors of the ship. At this time, the well-equipped band of the Navy performed traditional band music. Officials of the Russian Embassy in Dhaka were present at the time.
In addition, the Russian Military Attaché in Bangladesh and senior officials of the Navy were present at the event. Earlier, when the ship entered Bangladeshi waters, the Navy ship Banoza Omar Farooq formally welcomed them.
Navy officials said that during the visit, the Russian delegation will pay courtesy calls on the Commander of the Chittagong Naval Region, Commander BN Fleet, Area Superintendent Dockyard and Chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority.
Bangladesh Navy officials hope that this visit will create new opportunities for mutual cooperation, training and exchange of professional knowledge between the navies of the two countries. The ship is scheduled to leave Bangladesh on November 21 after the goodwill visit. It is worth noting that Russia has been working for the people of Bangladesh since 1971. Bangladesh will forever remember Russia’s contribution to the reconstruction of war-torn Bangladesh.
