POBNEWS24, Dhaka Mar 13, 2026 : On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Russian House in Dhaka organized a special painting master class titled “Great Women” on March 13, 2026. The workshop was held in collaboration with the Serov Academy of Fine Arts. Around a hundred students from various educational institutions in Dhaka participated in it, creating a vibrant atmosphere of creativity and inspiration.
During the master class, participants painted portraits and artistic representations of extraordinary women who have made significant contributions to society. Among them was Valentina Tereshkova, the first female cosmonaut of the Soviet Union and a global symbol of courage and success. The students also painted a portrait of Begum Rokeya, a pioneer of the women’s education movement in Bangladesh and one of the pioneers of women’s empowerment.
Many participants also painted inspirational women in their own lives, such as their mothers, teachers, and other influential figures in their families. Through their artwork, students express respect, gratitude and deep respect for the women who play a significant role in shaping their lives and society.
The event created a unique opportunity to showcase the creative talents of the child and adolescent participants as well as celebrate the achievements and contributions of women through art. The “Great Women” Painting Master Class not only encouraged artistic expression, but also recognized the important role of women in history, education, science and everyday life.
The Russian House in Dhaka will continue to organize such meaningful cultural programs in the future to further strengthen the friendly relations between the people of Bangladesh and Russia by supporting cultural exchange, artistic expression and educational initiatives.
