Army is contributing not only to the country but also to the world: Wakar-uz-Zaman

POBNEWS24 Dhaka June 18, 2026 :  Bangladesh Army is contributing not only to the country but also to the world, said Army Chief Wakar-uz-Zaman. He also said that various practical development plans have been taken to modernize the army.
The Army Chief said that the importance of a skilled, modern and patriotic army is immense to maintain the independence and sovereignty of the motherland. And the responsibility of leading this force mainly lies with the officers.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the Presidential Parade organized on the occasion of the commissioning of the officer cadets of the 90th Long-Term Course at the Bangladesh Military Academy Parade Ground in Chittagong on Thursday.
Wakar-uz-Zaman said that the Bangladesh Military Academy, established in 1974, is playing an important role in producing dedicated, skilled, smart and talented army officers for the country. Under the leadership of commissioned officers from here, the Bangladesh Army is performing its duties with good reputation in the country and internationally.
He said, in the context of the changing world situation, various steps have been taken to modernize the army and improve the quality of training. In continuation of this, the activities of the Second Bangladesh Battalion have been officially inaugurated at the Bangladesh Military Academy to ensure modern and up-to-date training for officer cadets.
