Through 9 months of heroic struggle, national liberation came in exchange for the lives of 3 million people and the respect of two lakh mothers and sisters. Every year, Bangladesh celebrates the joy of victory by organizing various events with great enthusiasm. Countless red-green flags fly across the country. Official festivities were hampered last year by high levels of coronavirus infection. However, this time the situation is much different. Bangladesh has been celebrating Mujib Year since March 16 last year on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Honor of heroic freedom fighters: The Ministry of Liberation War has informed that this time on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence, honoring of heroic freedom fighters of different regions has been started at regional and sub-regional level. In this program, 21 general assemblies are being held all over the country. It started with the sub-regional general assembly on November 26 in Dinajpur. Programs have been taken to hold seven regional and 14 sub-regional rallies. Regional rallies will be held on December 2 in Panchagarh, December 6 in Jessore, December 6 in Gopalganj, December 6 in Comilla, December 11 in Jamalpur, December 12 in Cox’s Bazar and December 15 in Sylhet.
