POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 2, 2022 : The High Court has stayed the proceedings of the drug case against the bride for three months.
Justice Mostafa Zaman Islam and Justice Mohammad Ali issued the order along with the rules on Tuesday after hearing the application of Parimani seeking cancellation of the order to frame charges in the case. Selim High Court Bench.
The court heard the application of the lawyer Z I Khan Panna, Syeda Nasrin and Md. Shahinuzzaman. Deputy Attorney General Abu Yahya Dulal and Assistant Attorney General Mizanur Rahman represented the state.
Md. Shahinuzzaman later told Kaler Kantha, “The rule has asked why the case will not be dismissed. The state has been asked to respond to the rule within four weeks. ”
On January 5, Parimani filed a petition in the High Court seeking quashing of the case after the Special Judge’s Court No. 10 in Dhaka framed charges in the case.

On August 4, RAB raided the house of the actress and arrested her. He was later remanded in custody for three days in a Banani Police Narcotics Act case. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas had accepted the application of remanding his girlfriend for two days in the second phase of the Banani Police Station drug case. Later in the same case, Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam remanded him for one more day in the third phase.
After the High Court raised the issue of unusual delay in hearing her bail application, Parimani was granted bail by the magistrate court. He was released on September 1 last year after spending almost a month in jail.
Later, the investigating officer of the case (CID) Kazi Golam Mostafa filed a chargesheet against the three, including his girlfriend, on October 4 last year. On January 5, Judge Nazrul Islam of Dhaka’s Special Judge’s Court No. 10 framed charges against the three accused, including his girlfriend, in the case and set February 1 as the date for taking evidence. But none of the witnesses appeared in court that day and no evidence was taken. On the other hand, the accused’s girlfriend was not present in the court on that day.
Parimani’s lawyer Nilanjana Rifat Survi filed a petition in the court on the same day stating that she was ill. Judge Nazrul Islam granted the time limit and fixed Tuesday as the date for taking evidence.
Aside from the other two accused in the case Ashraful Islam Dipu and Md. Kabir Hawladar is also on bail.
