POBNEWS24,Dhaka July 23, 2022 : Jatiya Sangsad Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament for Gaibandha-5 Constituency Advocate Md. Fazle Rabbi is no more (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). He breathed his last on Friday at 2 am (4 pm New York time) while undergoing treatment at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, USA.
His nephew Fahad Rabbi Saikat confirmed the news of his death on social media Facebook.
He said on Facebook, today 23/07/2022 Bangladesh time at approximately 2:00 pm (New York time 4.00 pm) while undergoing treatment at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, the honorable Deputy Speaker of Bangladesh National Parliament Fazle Rabbi Mia MP passed away.
Fazle Rabbi Mia was elected Member of Parliament as a Jatiya Party candidate from Gaibandha-5 constituency in the 1986 Third, 1988 Fourth, 1991 Fifth and 12th June 1996 Seventh National Parliament Elections. After that he joined the Bangladesh Awami League and was defeated as a candidate of the Awami League in the 2001 eighth parliamentary elections.
He was elected as a member of parliament as a candidate of Bangladesh Awami League from Gaibandha-5 seat in 9th 2008, 2014 2014 and 2011 11th national parliamentary elections.
In 1990, he also served as the Minister of State for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. He has been serving as Deputy Speaker since the 10th Parliament.
