POBNEWS24,Dhaka Apr 22, 2023 : The first congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr was held at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. Thousands of devout worshipers participated in this congregation which started at 7 am on Saturday (April 22). Imam Hafez Mufti Maulana Mizanur Rahman of Baitul Mukarram led the first congregation. After the two rakat prayers, the imam gives a special sermon. After that, the first congregation of Eid ended with prayer.
The worshipers began to gather at Baitul Mukarram from early morning to perform the Eid congregation. Security measures are taken to focus on the Eid congregation. After crossing several levels of security checks, the worshipers entered the mosque premises in long queues. On this day, after performing the Eid prayers, the worshipers pray to Almighty Allah for the well-being of the nation. After the prayer, the devout Muslims exchanged Eid greetings with each other as well as the Kolakuli.
After that, four more congregations will be held. According to the Islamic Foundation, the second Eid congregation will be held at Baitul Mukarram at 8 am, the Imam will be Pesh Imam Hafez Mufti Muhibullahil Baki Nadvi. Pesh Imam Hafeez Maulana Ehsanul Haque will lead the third congregation at 9 am. Pesh Imam Maulana Mohiuddin Kasem will lead the fourth congregation at 10 am. The last congregation will be held at 10:45 am. Muhaddis Hafez Maulana Waliur Rahman of Islamic Foundation (Ifa) will preside over it.
If the imam is absent in any of the 5 congregations, Maulana Ifar Mufti Muhammad Abdullah will act as an alternate imam.
The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at 8:30 am at the National Eidgah Maidan. Khatib Mufti Ruhul Amin of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque will preside over it. People from all walks of life including President Abdul Hamid, Supreme Court, Justices, Cabinet members, Parliamentarians, politicians will participate in this Jamaat.
