POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 5, 2025 : Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has said that a group is looking forward to disrupting the election. They are sitting outside the country and are engaged in various mischief from within to disrupt the country’s democratic progress.
He said these things in an address to the nation on the occasion of July Uprising Day on Tuesday night.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, ‘We must ensure that they do not get any opportunity to make the elections controversial. Keep in mind that the defeated forces will try to rise up again and again until the elections. But if a free, fair and impartial election is successfully organized, the defeat of the evil forces will be final.’
The Chief Advisor said, ‘The reason behind all the major conflicts and violence that have occurred in the country’s history so far was flawed elections. The July coup has shown us what the ultimate consequences are if a party is elected to power through flawed elections. We do not want to repeat a tainted chapter of history.’
Stating that ‘We will take the help of technology to constantly seek advice on election-related issues,’ the chief advisor said, ‘For this, we are taking the initiative to create an app. This app will be launched soon. You will tell us all your suggestions, all opinions, all fears and initiatives through this app. We will inform the appropriate authorities and take measures to resolve the problem.’
He said, ‘My appeal to political parties is that in your election manifestos, your promises, pledges and plans, the youth should not be left out. Women should not be left out. Remember, the youth who have changed Bangladesh have the power to change the world too. Take the initiative from your party to give them that opportunity. In the next election, everyone will vote for their preferred candidate safely – no one can have any objection to this. We will all respect everyone’s choice – this is our promise’.
‘The election is coming. If you live far from your constituency, then visit the constituency regularly from now on. So that you can be ready to elect the best person’.
The chief advisor said, ‘Those whose fresh blood we got back this very precious right, let their faces shine in our eyes before casting the vote’.
He said, ‘February is not far away. As soon as we start preparing for the election, the voting day will arrive. For many years, none of us could vote. This time, we will all vote. No one will be left out. Let everyone be able to say, I cast my vote to set the country on the path of building a new Bangladesh. The country was able to set out on that path with my vote’.
‘On the July Mass Uprising Day, my appeal to all citizens is, let us successfully pass the first big test of building a ‘new Bangladesh’.
