POBNEWS24, Dhaka Nov 20, 2024 : The Bangladesh government has removed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Mainul Islam and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Mainul Hasan from their posts, replacing them with Baharul Alam and Sheikh Sajjad Ali respectively.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs disclosed this information in a notification on Wednesday afternoon.
After the fall of Awami League-government by a mass uprising on August 5, the interim government appointed Md Mainul Islam as the Inspector General of Police on August 7, while Md Mainul Hasan was made Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner on August 7.
