POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 4, 2024: Three inter-country trains plying from Bangladesh to India will be closed for 5 days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Bangladesh Railway has recently taken this decision to provide maximum service during the Eid journey.
According to the Railways, the movement of Maitri Express will be stopped from next 14-22 June among the inter-country passenger trains. Mithali Express and Bandhan Express will be suspended from June 12-20 and Bandhan Express from June 16-20.
In other words, no train will run from Bangladesh to India for five days on June 16-20.
Director General of Bangladesh Railways Sardar Shahadat Ali said that the inter-country trains will be closed for a few days to deal with the extra passenger transport situation and to run special trains during Eid.
Maitri Express runs between Dhaka to Kolkata, Mitali Express from Siliguri to Dhaka and Bandhan Express from Kolkata to Khulna in Bangladesh.
