POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Oct 9, 2021:Bangladesh lost to Oman ‘A’ by a big margin in the warm-up match. Today, Liton Das and Nurul Hasan made a huge capital of 206 runs for 4 wickets by batting first at the Oman Cricket Academy ground. Chasing that run, Oman ‘A’ team stopped the innings with 146 runs for 9 wickets. Bangladesh team has also prepared well for batting and bowling with a big victory of 80 runs.

However, Mahmudullah, the T20 captain of the Bangladesh team, gave birth to some worries on this day. He has rested without playing the preparation match due to back strain. Selector Habibul Bashar, who is with the party, said Mahmudullah was rested without taking any risk. Liton Das led the Bangladesh XI in the warm-up match instead of the regular captain.

The extra responsibility of captaincy also brought a run to Liton’s bat. The opener of the national team played a great innings of 53 runs from 33 balls. With Mohammad Naeem, Liton put on 102 runs for the first wicket. Naeem also did fifty before retiring voluntarily. And the Bangladesh team got a big capital of 206 runs.

From the start of yesterday’s innings, Liton attacked the bowlers of Oman ‘A’ team. Having the freedom to play shots on good wickets, he did not show any stinginess to show his skills. He hit four fours in the 32nd over. The next ball was a great catch out. But before he was dismissed, he had scored 53 runs in 6 fours and a six. The majestic government had a chance to add some runs quickly. But this left-arm batsman was dismissed for 7 off 6 balls.

Then Mushfiqur Rahim made a big mistake. After Soumya’s departure, he had a chance to add some runs quickly by spending time at the crease. But instead of doing that, he made a catch in the hands of the wicketkeeper in an attempt to play a scoop shot with the first ball. Afif Hossain was also dismissed in the same over. He hit a six off the first ball at the crease. Afif made a catch at the boundary trying to do the same in the next ball. Bangladesh lost three wickets for 6 runs.

Opener Naeem survived at the crease relying on this time. The left-arm was holding one end even though the speed of the run was reduced due to the wicket. When Nurul Hasan came and started hitting four-sixes, Naeem got a chance to retire voluntarily. The opening batsman hit 3 fours and 2 sixes to make 63 off 53 balls.

Nurul left the field with 49 runs off 15 balls with 6 sixes. 19 runs from 10 balls came from Shamim’s bat. Together they took the team to a score of 206 runs for 4 wickets.

The pressure of a huge run was supposed to be tough for the Oman ‘A’ team. That’s it. The hosts’ innings did not go far in front of Bangladeshi bowling. Saifuddin took 2 wickets, Mehedi and Nasum took 1 wicket each. Shariful took maximum 3 wickets in the innings with 30 runs in 4 overs.
