POBNEWS24, Kolkata, Sep 10, 2021 : Innocent Afghans are fleeing the country after the Taliban took over Afghanistan. Afghanistan is now one of the main topics of study in international politics.

At the same time, there is a lot of speculation across India about the return of the Taliban after 20 years in neighbouring Afghanistan.

The Indian government has not yet issued a statement on diplomatic relations between India and Afghanistan after the Taliban seized political power in Afghanistan.

Since Narendra Modi came to power as Prime Minister in 2014, people from other minority communities, including Muslims, have been constantly attacked in the BJP-ruled states of India.

The badge of sedition is being imposed on the innocent people of the Muslim community. Besides, the CBI is using central agencies like ED to arrest prominent personalities including social workers, human rights activists, journalists and put them in jail without trial.

This allegation was made by all opposition political leaders in India.

Will the insecurity of Indian Muslims increase after the Taliban seize power in Afghanistan?

Besides, will this incident have any impact on the Indian economy if bilateral relations between India and Afghanistan do not improve in the future?

Prominent personalities have expressed their views in this regard. Among them are political leaders, prominent social activists and writers.

Prominent writer Abul Bashar said, ‘Rabindranath said, when we go through history, we do not understand that we are going through history.

Extreme right-wing extremism is spreading all over the world. Like the Taliban in Afghanistan, Hindutva forces in India are formulating anti-people policies today.

Not only the people of the Muslim community, but also the innocent poor people of the Dalit community are being targeted by the Hindutva forces.

At the same time, the people of the Christian minority community in India are being attacked. The general population in Afghanistan is anti-Taliban.

Millions of ordinary people in India are anti-BJP. Progressive people are opposing Hindutva“, said Ranjit Shur, a prominent human rights activist and a member of the Central Committee of the Association for the Protection of Democratic Rights.

The number of innocent Muslims hanged earlier for treason might now increase. This is what we human rights activists are worried about seeing the current situation. The BJP and the RSS in India will fuel the politics of communal divisions in the face of the events in Afghanistan ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha elections in India.

They will spread hatred towards the Indian citizens of the Muslim community. Besides, I fear that Muslim fundamentalism will carry out covert activities in India as the Taliban seize power in neighbouring Afghanistan.

In the meantime, poor Muslims and meritorious Muslim students have been systematically framed in sedition cases. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the most swordsman in India against the BJP.

But innocent Muslims from West Bengal have also been arrested in sedition cases. They have been accused of militant activities.

We have investigated on behalf of the organization and found that most of the Muslims arrested from West Bengal in sedition cases are innocent poor people. Some were running fruit shops, some were repairing umbrellas and some were running their families in Corona situation. So Indian Muslims are more intense after the political upheaval in Afghanistan, they will suffer from insecurity in the future.

Social activist Amitabh Chakraborty expressed concern, ‘The Muslim Nawabs of India were appreciative of Hindu culture. But the BJP and the RSS are not spreading this history and are spreading divisions between the Hindu and Muslim communities. They are distorting the history of India. BJP has started riots in North 24 Parganas. And after the riots, members of Muslim organizations like Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind have distributed relief to people of both Hindu and Muslim communities.

Indian Muslim organizations like Tablighi Jamaat, Jamaat-e-Islami, Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind have not yet opened their mouths on the situation in Afghanistan. Rather they remain silent.

Similarly, Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, who is still a silent opposition to the BJP, is keen to lead in all-India politics.

Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, “The party will state its position in due course. No important grassroots leader is reluctant to open his mouth on the issue.

However, the leftists have made their party’s statement clear on Afghanistan.

Syed Abdullah, general secretary of the Marxist Forward Bloc, said: “The Indian government is using intelligence agencies to hang and arrest meritorious students of the Muslim community on false charges of militant activity on Indian soil. Some similar incidents have also taken place in Bengal. However, in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, the people of the Muslim community in the state have cast a record number of votes for the Trinamool Congress candidates. But here too Muslims are being arrested on false charges of sedition. There are false rumors about Muslim infiltration into India from Bangladesh. Hindutva activists also say that the number of Muslims in India is increasing. But according to the latest census report, the Hindu population in India has increased by 5 percent. And the population of the Muslim community has increased by 3 percent.
