POBNEWS24,Dhaka, Nov 23, 2021 : Pro-BNP lawyers have given a memorandum to Law Minister Anisul Haque on the issue of sending BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment. A delegation of lawyers went to meet the law minister at the secretariat around 2.45 pm on Tuesday.
The BNP is demanding the release of Khaleda Zia and her treatment abroad. The party went on a mass hunger strike last Saturday to demand this. The party also held a rally in front of the National Press Club at 11am on Monday demanding the release of Khaleda Zia and her medical treatment abroad.
Earlier on Saturday, the law minister said that they would be able to bring doctors from abroad for Khaleda Zia’s treatment abroad. They can bring in as many doctors as they want. The government will not interfere in that. But they also have to keep in mind that the government will not do anything beyond what is in the law of the land.
