POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Aug 29, 2021: In the first 29 days of August, 30 people died of dengue fever. So far this season, 42 people have died of dengue in the country.
This information was given from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Health Department on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Department of Health, in the last 24 hours (from 8 am on Saturday to 6 am on Sunday), 252 people have been admitted to various hospitals for dengue. 202 of them have been admitted to different hospitals in the capital.
Although the dengue situation was under control last year, this time the number of dengue patients is increasing due to the Corona epidemic. Since January this year, 9,758 people have been infected with dengue fever in the country. And 6,790 people have recovered.
Meanwhile, 6,199 people have been infected with dengue in the first 29 days of August. The number of victims in the previous seven months was 2,065. At present 1,123 people are being treated in different hospitals of the country.
The highest number of patients in the capital is being admitted to Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka. 1,562 people have been admitted to this hospital for treatment. 6 of them died. In the last 24 hours, 21 new patients have been admitted to this hospital. In the last 24 hours, 18 children have been admitted to Dhaka Children’s Hospital. 6 children died in this hospital.
