POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Apr 30, 2025 : A visiting US delegation called on the Chief Adviser on Thursday and expressed support for the reform agenda of the Interim Government. They also discussed regional issues of peace, security, and development.
The delegation includes Deputy Assistant Secretaries of State Nicole A. Chulick and Andrew Herrup.
Bangladesh’s National Security Adviser Dr. Khalilur Rahman, the head of US mission in Dhaka Tracey Ann Jacobson were present at the meeting.
The US officials expressed deep appreciation for the generosity of Bangladesh by hosting 1.2 million Rohingyas and thanked the Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus for making progress to cooperate USA strategy in this issue.
The Chief Adviser termed the recent identification by Myanmar government of 180,000 Rohingyas as fit for return to Rakhine as an important progress.
“We appreciate your vision of looking at the Rohingya issue not in isolation but in the context of Myanmar as a whole,” said Chulick.
The US officials also appreciated the Chief Adviser’s regional cooperation, connectivity, and regional best interest for USA.
The Chief Adviser underlined the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and reaffirmed the commitment of the interim government to work closely with the Trump administration on the entire range of bilateral relations. He thanked the US President Donald J. Trump for resuming aid for the Rohingyas.
On the other hand,Foreign Advisor. Tawhid Hossain said the UN wants to create a humanitarian corridor through Bangladesh to send humanitarian assistance to Rakhine. The interim government is in principle agreed in this regard.
He told this to reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday (April 23).
Foreign Advisor said, “Bangladesh is in principle about giving a humanitarian corridor to Rakhine according to the UN proposal. This would be a human passage. But we have some terms. I’m not going to spread it. If the conditions are followed, we will definitely help. ‘
Touhid Hossain said, “A large population of Myanmar is taking shelter in our country and we want to send them back,” Touhid Hossain said. We need to do whatever we need to do in sending a refund. ‘

Now many people can say it’s just a corridor. Is it not going to be a corridor for humanitarian aid? What is the risk of it? They are actually living in a fool’s heaven.
The past history, equations, experiences and my personal observations of international politics say, wherever the ‘humanitarian corridor’ was created, there was a long-term security crisis and instability. For example, a few human corridors can be calculated below.
1 .Syria: Various militia groups have been involved in weapons and human trafficking under the humanitarian corridor.
- Basnia (decade of the 1990): The genocide took place after the Srebrenica ‘Safe Zone’.
- Kurdistan: In the name of humanitarian assistance, Kurdish groups strengthen the movement to form a separate state.
1 .Ukraine (Donbas Zone): Russia has established authority over separatist regions claiming ‘humanitarian corridors’.
The United States is mainly planning to establish its authority in Southeast Asia, Arakan Mizoram and Hiltracts of Bangladesh, which will be Israel in the region. Through Israel, the way the USA has kept its hands in the Middle East , new state policy in Myanmar is also coming up with the same agenda in Southeast Asia. Naturally, already existing regional hegemony india-china strategically will oppose USA in this region. Russia also will be with India-China in the interest of opposing USA’s Look East Policy in this regard.
At the moment we are witnessing The Global Eastward sift of Geopolitics . The Counter Strategy of each other is part of the USA’s Indo Pacific Outlook or China’s Belt and Road Initiative. CHINA was planning to take pipelines through Arakan in Myanmar as an alternative to the United States planning to capture China by creating a obstacles in Malacca choke point. So China will concentrate here sacrificing any other interests. And this region will never want to establish America’s authority.
Let’s come about the Arakan Army. Who are the Arakan Army?- They are actually an armed separatist group in the Rakhine state of Myanmar.
The group, founded in the 21st, is publicly fighting against the Myanmar Army (Tatmadaw).
AA is listed as a “terrorist organization” to the Myanmar government.
At the international level, AA has repeatedly faced allegations of drug smuggling, arms trade and human trafficking.
The Arakan Army entered Bangladesh in 2021 and also took place (especially on the Chittagong Hill Tracts Border).
However, their main purpose is to establish independence from Myanmar by establishing an independent state in Arakan. The USA is supporting it.
If the Arakan independence movement is accelerated by using the corridor of Bangladesh or the Bangladeshi troops are involved in direct/indirect war, what can be the exact security risk for Bangladesh?
★ First of all, Chittagong Hill Tracts will come: Historically there was a separatist movement in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (military separation was not fully eliminated even after the peace agreement).
Today, religious and ethnic divisions are increasing within the Rakhine, Chakma, Marma people. Chittagong Hill Tracts will try to become more active with the opportunity to lean towards the Arakan of the Bangladesh Army.
★ Then the Rohingya Crisis: The Rohingya temporary shelter deadline has been repeatedly violated. Now the use of the new Arakan Army is the creation of permanent instability in this area. It is normal for international intervention to come here. International intervention within a country is definitely a threat to the sovereignty of that country. ★ Conspiracy of the State in the Chittagong Hill Tracts:

The issue of Chittagong Hill Tracts has been raised several times in the Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), which was internationally to the Indigenous Issues (UPFII).
Today’s Rakhine Corridor issue is not an isolated event. It is part of the larger global and regional conspiracy. Such a decision beyond the permission or permission of the people of Bangladesh is directly violation of sovereignty.

However, it is now true that Sheikh Hasina was not wrong. She has repeatedly made us aware of the threat of the country’s sovereignty, not to secure power in government but to protect the security of sovereignty of Bangladesh.

The realities of history is strict, that prophecy will have to be fulfilled. Now there is time to raise the voice of the patriotic generation, the sovereignty of the beloved homeland will not be sacrificed .
