POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Aug 30, 2021:In Sylhet division, 8 people died of corona in 24 hours from 8 am on Sunday to 8 am on Monday. During this time, samples of 1,397 people were tested and corona of 290 people were identified. The detection rate is 20.6 percent. This information has been revealed in the report sent by the Sylhet Divisional Health Department this afternoon.
According to the Department of Health, there has been an increase in corona infections in the Sylhet division since late June. At that time, the corona detection was above 30 percent every day. On August 2, a maximum of 43.75 percent was identified. However, the rate of corona infection has been declining for about a week.
Among the newly identified persons in the department in the last 24 hours, there are 60 in Sylhet district, 12 in Sunamganj, 159 in Habiganj and 39 in Moulvibazar district. With this, the number of people affected by corona in the department stands at 52 thousand 614. Of these, 32,563 are residents of Sylhet district, 6,061 are residents of Sunamganj, 6,443 are residents of Habiganj and 6,626 are residents of Moulvibazar.
The latest deaths include six from Sylhet district and one from Moulvibazar district. With this, 1,059 people died due to corona in the department. Of these, 79 are in Sylhet district, 72 in Sunamganj, 48 in Habiganj and 72 in Moulvibazar district.
In the last 24 hours, 259 people have recovered from Corona. With this, the number of people who recovered from Corona in the department stood at 43,331.
Himanshu Lal Roy, director of the Sylhet Divisional Health Department, said the number of patients currently being treated at various hospitals in the Sylhet division is 361. Of these, 299 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Sylhet district. Besides, 33 people are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Sunamganj, 19 in Habiganj and 20 in Moulvibazar. He urged everyone to be aware and adhere to hygiene rules to prevent corona infection.
