POBNEWS24,Dhaka, Feb 13, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “I want to launch a Marine Academy in every department of the country.” Our boys and girls will not only be trained, job opportunities will be created at home and abroad. Bangladesh is moving forward, will move forward.

The Prime Minister said this while participating in a video conference at the concluding parade (Mujibvarsh Graduation Parade) of the 56th batch of cadets of Bangladesh Marine Academy here on Sunday (February 13) morning.

The Prime Minister said, “We have built a digital Bangladesh.” I have come to you digitally. During Corona, we have been able to keep the wheel of the economy moving because of Digital Bangladesh. Bangabandhu has given the gift of establishing Bengali nationalism and independent country. The people of this country have achieved victory by following the instructions given in the speech of March 7. Bangabandhu built the war-torn country. Got three and a half years time. Planned to acquire maritime boundaries.

He added, “The government of Pakistan has shifted the Marine Academy to Karachi. The Father of the Nation established this academy in 1973. Founded BSc. Chittagong and Mongla ports were cleared of mines and ports were opened. Russia, in particular, assisted in the work, and two of their experts were killed. Drydock began construction. Collected 19 ships for BSc. Began oil and gas exploration in the sea. The law enacted by the father of the nation was helpful in determining the maritime limit of many countries of the world. The United Nations recognized Bangladesh as a least developed country in the shortest possible time. In 1975, Bangabandhu and his family were killed. We lost our loved ones, the country lost development. Then those who came were engaged in corruption and nepotism. ‘

The Prime Minister said, “We have taken a big step by forming a government for the first time. As a result of various initiatives of our government, the academy was whitelisted. Later, when I formed the government again, I started admitting women cadets in 2012. They are working with reputation. Acceptance of Bangladesh Marine Academy has increased in the world. Hopefully, the Marine Academy will launch a high-tech ocean-going curriculum.

Addressing the cadets, the Prime Minister said, “You act as the ambassador of Bangladesh.” Your honesty and skill will be the path of the next cadets.

Special guests were State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and Secretary, Ministry of Shipping Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury.

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury expressed deep respect to Bangabandhu and said that Bangabandhu has established Bangladesh Marine Academy. Honorable Prime Minister, you have established four new Marine Academies. Women cadets have been given the opportunity to be admitted. Two female cadets are staying at sea in six ships of BSc. They are contributing to Sunil’s economy. Many thanks to the shipping companies for their sincere cooperation in recruiting our cadets on ships from home and abroad.
