POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 12, 2026 : At least 44 people have died and more than a million people have been stranded in Bangladesh due to heavy rains and landslides triggered by the active monsoon. According to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, the worst-hit districts include Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachari, Moulvibazar and Habiganj.
In separate messages, Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed deep shock over the loss of lives.

President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his condolences over the tragic loss of life and widespread destruction caused by the devastating floods and landslides in Bangladesh. He said that Pakistan stands firmly with the government and people of Bangladesh in this difficult time. The President expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a speedy recovery and well-being of all those affected.
