POBNEWS24, Desk Report, Feb 5, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that people of all religions and communities in Bangladesh have been practicing their religion completely independently during the Awami League government.
The Prime Minister said this in a message given on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. On this occasion, Sheikh Hasina extended her best wishes and congratulations to all members of the Hindu community.
The Prime Minister said, ‘Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony.
People of all religions, irrespective of race, religion and caste, have been living together in harmony in this land for thousands of years. ‘
He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had ensured equal rights of people of all religions and castes in our constitution. Following in his footsteps, during the Awami League government, people of all religions and communities in Bangladesh have been practicing their respective religions completely independently.
Referring to ‘Religions belong to everyone, festivals belong to everyone’, the Prime Minister said, ‘We celebrate festivals of all religions with joy. We will not allow anyone to destroy our communal harmony. In the days to come, the mutual harmony of all religions will be even stronger. ‘
Sheikh Hasina said Goddess Saraswati is the symbol of truth, justice and enlightenment. Possessor of knowledge, words and melody. On the occasion of worshiping Goddess Saraswati, I urge all members of the Hindu community to devote themselves to the advancement of the country by becoming novices in acquiring knowledge. We request everyone to observe the puja in this critical time of coronavirus by following the rules of hygiene and maintaining social distance. ‘
